Palo Alto Steve Jobs' Neighborhood

Palo  Alto 1970's - Summer - warm, gentle, earthy, healthy, optimistic summer.
Please see Color Palette - earth and sky tones, soft warm colors, burned colors (burnt oranges, brown toned red, avocado, old golds), pastels.  think the color of aged photograph.
We do want color, just nothing that pops.  Patterns in clothing are good, but not the harsh aggressive patterns generally associated with the 70’s.  Shirt, blouse, and suit collars were big.  Ties were very fat.  Pants were worn up closer to the waistline (NO droopy drawers!).  Bell bottoms were popular, 501 Levis and classic khakis were popular.  Shorts were NOT baggy, and NOT long: think cut off 501’s or classic walking shorts.  Girls also wore rather short shorts as well as bells and levis, but the waist line was higher than today and much less tummy was displayed.  Skirt length were from mini to midi.  Sneakers were modest and flat: converse/ vans/ early Adidas etc styles.  Chunky heeled shoes, wedged as well as flat sandals; classic men’s lace up shoes, wallaby lace ups, loafers, flat rubber flip flops. Oh, and Hair, Hair, Hair….it was a rather hairy head and face time.
